The fashion industry has green designers and offers green fashion for all in all price points. Are you doing your part in Eco fashion? Have you analyzed your wardrobe and see what percent of it is green clothes?
Someone asked me what does a green wardrobe consists of? The following determines what a green is about.
- Buying green clothes made of sustainable materials like bamboo, and organic cotton. Also, shopping at thrift/vintage shops and giving clothes a second life.
- Washing your clothes after 2-3 wears in a energy efficient washer and dryer. Also, using a biodegradable laundry detergent. If your clothes are dry clean only please go to a Eco-friendly dry cleaner and take a reusable garment bag.
- When your clothes are old don’t throw them away, turn them into cleaning cloths or into quilted pillow cases! If you get tired of your clothes recycle them by taking them to a goodwill store or salvation army.
- The hangers in your closet should be Eco-friendly made of recyclable/sustainable materials.
- Last but not least, remember to only buy Eco friendly products and green fashion that you need. Stay away from fast fashion even if it claims to be Eco fashion.
