Pearls are legendary, stylish & glamorous women throughout the centuries have been photographed wearing them. Jackie O & Liz Taylor made pearls part of their distinctive fashion style.

No wonder pearls are the jewel of choice for brides all over the world! The pearl symbolizes innocence, purity, and loyalty-characteristics traditional brides want to convey to their husbands.

Pearls represent a timeless fashion artistry of exquisite style, they are a wardrobe staple! Pearls go from the office to a wedding reception, from church to evening wear.

Pearls come in different shapes and sizes, there are no two alike. Just like us, yet why do we compare ourselves to others? Why are we obsessed with thin models in the media and fashion?

Just like the pearl, we are unique and priceless! True beauty is not measured by the number of people that think you are beautiful, rather by the number of hearts you touch with your true beauty!

As a fashion consultant, I was happy to see that many designers embraced shapely/feminine silhouettes for fall. It’s great to see the renewed interest of body image in the fashion industry, the catwalks showcased women of different ages and body types.

Bridal fashion was no exception: curves are back! The is no denying women have boobs and curves, show them proudly with this Alvina Valenta gown!

As your bridal consultant, let me tell you that curves/shapely silhouettes are classic and never go out of style. Loving and embracing your body is what true beauty is about!

Its wedding season and as your bridal consultant I think you will enjoy this. Have you ever thought why give wedding favors? Their historical origin is unknown but they have been popular worldwide for centuries. Some say the tradition originated with the Romans in the 8th century, while others say the Romans started the practice of throwing rice and giving wedding favors to guests around during 400 B.C.

Wedding favors are and were given by the bridal couple to show their appreciation towards their guests. As means of thanking their guests and to indicate the fact that the bridal couple is honored by their guest’s presence at their wedding celebration.

I think that a wedding favor should be useful and/or practical, not something that gets toss out within days. Therefore, I would like to share with you some unique and unforgettable wedding favors.

Your guests will be happy to receive your unique favors like these. For these or other fabulous wedding favors at great price click here!

There is a lot gossip about a royal wedding, Prince William and his lovely Kate. Well, what would a modern royal princess wear to her wedding? Everyone will be watching and comparing her to other royal brides, but regardless of what she wears everyone bride to be will want to wear it.

Will she follow tradition? She’s a hip cool modern princess with the heaviness of England’s next queen. We the bridal fashion industry can’t wait, and here are some of the ideas for her bridal gown.

Now this gown its fits Kate, it’s youth, modern with a nod of tradition. The cap sleeves are elegant and the texture fabric gives it the WOW princess look!

This gown get the best of both worlds, it’s modern sexy silhouette shows off Kate’s curves. Yet, it’s within traditional bridal look and this is my favorite one.

This gown offers a high neckline and French Alencon lace sleeves, the rest of the dress is plain. As a bridal consultant, I think it’s a timeless gown but not for a modern princess.

Ladies, did you enjoy these bridal designs, which one is your favorite?

After so many strapless gowns and after Ivanka Trump wedding; sleeves look elegant and fresh. Bridal fashion runways are flooded with sleeves.

Whether they’re barely-there, short or luxurious and long, sleeves add a demure, feminine touch to any gown!

As a bridal consultant, I think sleeves look great and timeless when they are done in a soft light fabric. A bride look uncomfortable and matronly in heavy fabric sleeves. So if you looking for more coverage make should you look delicate and youthful!

Short wedding dresses were mostly worn by brides at rehearsal dinners and after-parties rarely seen at weddings. Nowadays, they’re frequently worn for the main event!

This bridal design is perfect for wedding at venues like backyards, nightclubs, the beach, and restaurants. It offers a lady like look that will flatter most body shapes!

My fashion advice is to wear a gown that fits your wedding theme. Don’t wear it short just because its trendy, and if you must wear it short wear it for the reception!

Historically, lace gowns tend to attract brides who are going for an ultra-feminine and classic wedding look.

Today’s bridal designs are broking through the traditional connotations and used this staple wedding dress fabric in more modern/super-sexy ways.

I love this gown because it offer the best of both world, the timeless lace and the modern sexy silhouette! What do you gals think?

Hi gals, here is the bridal fashion look of the week! This stunning gown is part of Ysa Makino bridal designs! What do you think?

I would like to share this old funny bridal fashion poem I came across:

“Married in white, you will have chosen all right. Married in grey, you will go far away. Married in black, you will wish yourself back. Married in red, you’ll wish yourself dead. Married in blue, you will always be true. Married in pearl, you’ll live in a whirl. Married in green, ashamed to be seen, Married in yellow, ashamed of the fellow. Married in brown, you’ll live out of town. Married in pink, your spirits will sink.”

Hi Gals, I have a passion and appreciation for bridal fashion. After all I was a bridal consultant for over 8 years!

I would like to bring you a weekly gown of the week, and get your feed back of what you think! A wedding gown should be as unique as the bride wearing it. If you are a bride to be, perhaps you will be inspire to wear one of this gowns.

This is a stunning St Pucchi gown, remember that most of the time people look at the back of your gown! For any fashion advice please feel free to email me, so what you think that this gown?

As a bridal consultant their are certain things you need to know about bridal fashion. I would like to share with you some interesting facts of the bridal world!

The first documented wedding gown was worn by Princess Philippa, daughter of Henry IV, at her marriage to Erik of Denmark in 1406. Gowns for royal marriages were of expensive velvet, damask silk, satin, fur, and fabrics woven with precious stones and gold and silver thread.

The wealthiest brides could afford dresses in red, purple and even black, all the more beautiful with full and gathered skirts, floor-sweeping sleeves and yards long trains.

  • Blue, not white, was the symbol of purity in the Middle Ages, expressed at wedding ceremonies by a band of blue ribbon worn by both bride and groom. It inspired the “something blue” rhyme that endures to this day.
  • The cringe-inducing  tradition of garter plucking dates to the Renaissance, as guests would follow the happy couple  back to their room and grab it for good luck. Presenting a bride’s garter to your own true love was considered a sign of steadfast  faithfulness.
  • Queen Victoria was the first bride to have bridesmaids carry her train.
  • In the late 1800’s bride’s typically had their wedding dresses altered after their big day, with sleeves shortened and necklines dropped in the style of contemporary evening wear. Indeed, stepping out to an event in a remodeled wedding gown was considered a compliment to the hostess.
  • In the 1930’s freedom of movement finally made it to the bridal world, with the introduction of detachable trains. The otherwise glamorous extensions could be tossed aside after the ceremony, or even cut and dyed into evening wear.
  • And the bride wore…trousers? In the 1970’s for the first time, pantsuits were acceptable for the walk down the aisle, with “hip-huggers” and “bell bottoms” considered quite fashion forward as bridal wear.

Now you know where of the today’s bridal traditions came from! As your fashion consultant I would love to hear your feed back, please leave a comment!

My best friend is getting married this October, and it got me thinking. Where did the idea of wedding and engagement rings originated? I did some research and I found out that it was the ancient Egyptian who established the custom of placing a ring on the finger of his wife, as a sign that he had confidence in her ability to care for his house.

Later in the second century B. C. the Roman bride was presented with a gold ring. But this she wore only in public, such a ring was much too precious to wear while tending to household duties.

I happen to know some women who only wear their wedding ring in public. Now why would someone do that now a days?

Now, it was not until about 860 that the Christians used the ring in marriage ceremonies, and then it was not the plain circlet that we now use. Rather a highly decorated device, engraved with symbolical figures.

The habit of wearing the wedding symbol on the fourth finger of the left hand is based upon a Grecian fable that the artery from that finger flows directly to the heart! Therefore, the ring symbolizes the union of hearts!

Hope you liked this and I would love to hear your comments! If are a bride to be, and would like to know where to find the best wedding and engagement rings click here!

Why wear white? As far as tradition goes, brides wearing  white is a relatively new. The truth is tradition began when Queen Victoria married Prince Albert Of Saxe in 1840. She worn mounds of white bridal satin and lace and engravings of the couple were published in the 19th century tabloids.

It became a symbol of wealth to wear white. Later came the associations with virginity. Never mind that white is worn in mourning in many parts of the world!

Hay House, Inc. 445x90

Why is it that we adhering to these traditions when they have no meaning in our lives?

Sarah Jessica Parker married in black, Gwen Stefani’s Dior gown had shades of pink. This colors had a meaning to them and showcased their uniqueness.

As a bridal consultant my job was to bright out the uniqueness of the bride as she is the master piece of the wedding. Therefore, break free of this tradition and be your true self and choose a  dress that show who you really are! What do you gals think?

As a wedding consultant, I have been to many weddings and I think its time to get rid of some wedding traditions. When it comes to weddings, who says you have to follow all the rules? I believe that less is more, so it’s time to reevaluate the old-school ways of saying “I do.”

Often this traditions create a lot of stress to the wedding couple, especially the bride. The more you simplify, the more you’ll be able to focus on the really important things for your big day!

Big Bridal Parties
Since there can be lots of posturing and jockeying for these prime positions with the bride and groom, keep the bridal party small to avoid potential quibbles. Plus, with a more intimate group you’ll save money on gifts for the bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Matching Bridesmaid Style
Chances are the friends, sisters and cousins you’ve selected to be in your bridal party aren’t all of identical make-and-model. So outfitting them all in the exact same dress means there’s a good chance someone is going to look awkward (at best) and awful (at worst).

Instead, try doing different dresses in one color or a colorful array of complementary shades and have their uniqueness shine and complete you!

Assigned Seating
Guests get miserable if they’re stuck at a table away from the people they really want to hang with and don’t get to enjoy your wedding celebration! Cocktail-style settings with open seating and lots of grazing are more inviting and lively and people create wonderful memories at your wedding. Also, you’ll save money and migraines by ditching elaborate seating charts and place cards!

Wedding Ideas

Hi gals, are you planning a wedding and looking for ways to have an awesome wedding without braking the bank? Here are five ideas to help you save some money on your wedding and still have an unforgettable time!

Prioritize
The bride should ask herself questions like, “What is most important to me, the entertainment or the flowers?” This will help you determine how much money to devote to each category.

Make a must-have list, and a not so important list and budget them accordingly. A little extra money should go toward your top three elements. For example, if having great music is most important to you, cross off something from your not so important list like a chocolate fountain.

Cut The Guest List
One of the most effective ways to lower wedding costs is to trim down the guest list. Of course, you want to invite everyone you’ve ever known to share your big moment, but that may not be practical once you understand the cost per head: At $100 a person, taking 10 guests off the list saves you $1,000! If you’re struggling with whom to cut, follow these simple guidelines.

Rule 1: If you don’t know them, cut them.
Rule 2: Kids can be cut; their parents should understand.
Rule 3: If your friends aren’t engaged to, living with or in a long-term relationship with their so-called “plus one,” they don’t get the option to bring a guest.

Follow these and you’ll be amazed by how quickly the list whittles down.

Substitute Flowers
To save money, choose blooms that are in season and grown locally. Or substitute less expensive flowers in the same shade. If you trade black magic roses for deeply colored dahlias, you’ll save about $4 a stem.

If you’re going to have five roses per bouquet and 10 per centerpiece with a bridal party of five girls and a 150-person guest list, you could save as much as $700 by cutting back on this one small element.

Slim Down The Catering
Limit your dinner to three amazing courses and keep the menu basic. By choosing specialties that are in season and local to the region, you’ll save tons. When it’s time for the big toast, it’s OK to break out the fancy champagne - just switch to less-costly brands for the remainder of the evening.

You can also save on dessert by using a small cake to cut for the photos and having sheet cakes in the back to cut for guests.

Another good idea is to skip the handmade sugar flowers, special molded shapes and fondant, buttercream tastes better anyway.

Skip The Extras
Why splurge on things most guests won’t even notice? Stationery is another area where extras can really cost you. Stick to simple, single-color invitations. Two shades of ink can be pricey, and oddly shaped invites require extra postage: think square.

Another unnecessary extra is fancy transportation opt for traditional black or white town cars.

Modern Bride

Are you planning a wedding in this economical crunch and don’t have the budget for a fancy wedding? A wedding is nothing but a celebrating of love and commitment between to people. You can still have a wedding celebration on a low budget, here are some ideas:

  • If you must have a religious ceremony, go ahead and book your ceremony for the evening. After the ceremony you can go for a walk under the moonlight and then meet up with your guest at your parents’ house for some cake and champagne!

  • Do it the Sex and the City the movie style! Go to city hall and get married, after the city hall ceremony, your reception would be brunch at your favorite restaurant with your family and close friends!
  • If you are looking for a much more wild and fun wedding celebration, consider a Vegas wedding. Get married on a drive thru chapel, or even better have Elvis married you!!! Your guests would be a few close friends with which you can ride in a limo for a few hours enjoy the city and some champagne. After the limo ride you can party all night long at your favorite club. Just remember that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

Regardless of what you decide to do, remember that you must look and feel your best. Therefore, wear a modern, glamorous, and sophisticated wedding dress!

For some brides, the simple and white wedding dress just doesn’t cut it. Now a days you can find daring wedding dresses created especially for the bold at heart! Also, a good designer will make these daring wedding dresses flatter the average bride! If you dare to wear one of this I would love to see your fabulous pictures!!!

This simple A-line dress is enliven by the purple and blue silk overlay and a burgundy belt! Great way to incorporate your wedding color palette!

Its your wedding day, the walk down the aisle is not a beauty pageant! How daring to wear black on your wedding day!

The peekaboo holes on this dress will surely make a statement! Its a St. Pucchi gown so that’s no surprise her gowns are anything but ordinary!

Ok, this dress is a bit busy on the front and on top of that it has black. Its a beautiful dress but black in a wedding dress?

This dress reminds me of the 1950’s fashionable housewife who would just put an apron on and she is ready to cook! Yet, the dress is modern and fresh but the head piece is weird!

A wedding gown is one of the most important dresses a woman wears her in life. Some wear a classic, and timeless gown that can be pass down to her children. While some just want a simple Eco-friendly gown that can be given back to the Earth.

In my quest to find an Eco-friendly bridal designer I came across Wholly Jo’s. She is a UK-based bridal gown designer who offers one of a kind, unique and individually designed gowns. She uses organic, fair trade, cruelty free and bio sustainably produced fabrics. Her motto is Beautiful wedding gowns that don’t cost the Earth!

The vast majority of conventional wedding gowns never see the light of day again after the event, most of her gowns are designed so that they can be worn again. The gowns are mainly natural fibers making dying them an option. She encourages her clients to consider lending, selling or reusing them.

Wholly Jo’s works with honesty, integrity, and ethical practices in all aspects of her business. From ethical banking, green tariff electricity to recycled paper, green is always in her mind! She uses Freecycle and buy used if she can and supports local suppliers when ever possible and give 10% of our profits to charity every year.

One of the most important days in a woman’s life is her wedding day, and with that one of the most important dresses she wears is a bridal gown. So if you are a bride to be, here are some bridal fashion tips to help you find the perfect dress and make the process smoother and fun!

Try different dresses and when people only see your face, the dress disappears. That’s how you know that’s the dress! Its all about you, the dress only showcase your beautiful figure!

Petite: Sheath, a-line silhouettes especially those with empire waist will elongate your body. Beware of ball gowns which can overwhelm your figure.

Slim: Sheath are best for showing of your slender figure, choose halter or v-neck styles to add a bit of femininity around the bust line. To give the illusion of a fuller bust consider gowns with pleats, shirring, or gathers on bodice.

Plus Size: Go for a stature a-line gown with a dropped waist, which will frame your figure beautifully! Also, a wrap style gown will give you a very slimming look! Please stay away from soft and drapery fabrics that show everything and just hang on the body.

Hourglass: A gown with wide set straps offers optimum support on top. Highlight your hourglass figure in form fitting mermaids and trumpet styles. Also, if you want to showcase your bust and shoulders go for a off the shoulder style.

Pear Shape: I recommend a voluminous ball gown; the full skirt will minimize your hips and thighs while the corseted bodice will showcase your slim upper half. If you don’t want a ball gown consider a off the shoulder a-line gown, it will balance your figure and focus on your upper half.

Are you a “green warrior”, an environmentalist or just someone ready to give the total effort to making your wedding as Eco-active as possible, consider the tips below:

The Cake: A green wedding begins at home. Rather than contracting professionals to bake your cake consider creating it yourself in your own home. Baking your own wedding cake in your home stove expends less energy than the commercial ovens used in professional bakeries, and you can control the ingredients.

You can use free-range eggs, whole flour, organic milk and sugar, and other all-natural ingredients, creating a cake free of additives and preservatives. Transporting the cake to the reception yourself also prevents the bakery’s delivery truck from consuming fossil fuels and releasing exhaust fumes into the atmosphere. Of course, you need to ask a friend or relative to help you!

Favors:Give guests a favor that keeps the wedding spirit going, giving unique wedding favors such as seed packets allows them to create a growing memory of your special event. Seed packets are quickly becoming one of the more trendy wedding favors on the market, exactly because of their lovely finished product!

Flowers: There is an online company called Organic Bouquet, which sells certified organic roses and exotic flowers, all grown without chemical pesticides and insecticides. Organic roses are naturally fragrant and, because they are free of chemical pesticides, they’re also edible.

You can safely use them to decorate cakes or cupcakes, sprinkle on salads, or to make rose-scented sugar (just toss a few petals into a bowl of sugar). Or save your organic roses and make potpourri; fill cellophane bags with the mixture and send them to guests with your thank-you notes.

The Gown: My opinion on wedding gowns is to choose the dress you love! The one you envision passing down to your children. This is the greenest thing any bride can do: Invest in an exquisite piece to be shared with future generations.

Invitations: Look for seeded paper that germinates when planted, tree-free paper alternatives made from hemp or bamboo. Or choose 100% post-consumer recycled stock produced from discarded newspapers, office paper and magazines. Also, ask your printer to use a soy-based ink; it’s a greener choice made from renewable soy beans, and the end result can be brighter, clearer printing.

Lighting: Let there be natural light conserve resources by getting married outdoors or in an area with plentiful natural light. Getting married in the temperate months of spring, when the days grow longer, allows for maximum lighting time available.

If you’re getting married during warmer months, build a tent to offer shelter to your more heat-sensitive guests, decorating its sides and poles with fresh wildflowers. If your wedding goes after dark consider lighting up the night with bee wax or soy bean candles, solar lanterns they charge in the sun all day long and cast a soft glow at night.

Hang them in the trees, or use them to line the lawn to create pathways. Since they need no special wiring, you can put the lanterns wherever your heart desires.

Place Cards: Pluck leaves from trees and hand write with a permanent-ink pen the guest’s name on each leaf; add an extra-skinny ribbon at the stem and tie the leaf around the napkin. Stamp large river rocks with guests’ names using an alphabet stamp set available at any craft store; rest a rock at each place setting and ask guests to return the rocks to a river, or add them to a garden or planter in their own homes after the reception.

Use what you have: Lemons from a backyard tree could be marked with guests’ names using a sharpie. Pieces of broken terracotta pots or ceramic tiles make lovely place cards as well.

Recycling: Ask caterers to recycle cans, bottles and aluminum foil and insist on a no-Styrofoam policy.

Wine: Organic wines, which are made from grapes grown without chemical pesticides, have improved by leaps and bounds over the years. Bonterra which translates into “good earth” is a high-quality, reasonably priced line available nationwide.

An all-organic and biodynamic wine retailer in New York City: Appellation Wine and Spirits, offers a mind-blowing variety from both large and small winemakers around the world.

Food: Work with caterers and bakers who use organic and locally grown ingredients. If you were to use disposable dishware consider using biodegradable flatware and other earth-friendly items.
